Transfers & Car Hire

If you choose to fly to the Alps, you’ll also need a transfer from the airport to the chalet. The good news is we are able to provide a low-cost transfer service with our own minibus - but places are limited so please check early to avoid disappointment!

If we are unable to provide the service, we work with several local, English speaking firms, and are able to arrange everything on behalf of our guests. Simply let us know if you are interested in transfers when booking, and we'll arrange a bespoke quote for you.

Whoever provides the service, cheapest transfers are typically from Chambery, as it’s our closest major airport. Next cheapest is Geneva, followed by Lyon, and finally Grenoble. Geneva & Lyon tend to be the busiest airports, Chambery and Grenoble the quietest. There are other airports you can fly to (eg Turin and St Etienne) but these four tend to be the best bet for most.

Car Hire
An alternative solution is to hire a car from your destination airport - we can provide you with complete driving directions and a local map of our villages.

There are hundreds of options for car hire, so it is impossible to offer a comprehensive guide here. The key point to note is that for parties of 3-5, depending upon your arrival airport, it can sometimes prove cheaper to hire cars than use a transfer service, especially if a car hire firm is offering special deals.

There are too many car firms to recommend – however, whenever we have had to hire a car in France from the UK, we have always found
www.auto-europe.co.uk to be both efficient and competitively priced.

We have free parking for 2-3 cars at Chalet Epicea (and there is ample parking nearby), and parking for 3-4 cars at Chalet Le Passeu. Both Chalet Pisteside and Chalet Algonquin have free local parking within a minute's walk from the chalet.

If more spaces are required, we will point you in the direction of extra parking, and we will ensure there is somewhere to park your car for unloading and loading on your arrival and departure days.

Should you choose to hire a car, we would advise you also
visit our driving page, for advice and links on driving in France and in the Alps.
